What we do
Rome Community Center, INC. Dedicated to:
- Maintaining the building and grounds
- Organizing community events for all of Perry County
- Spreading the word about this important part of Indiana history
- Storing and displaying artifacts that reflect the history of the area
- Following Universal Design’s approved plan for adapting the building
for a sustainable future - Contracting for repairs and restoration
- Dispersing grant money and donations
200 + Years
Friends of the 1818 Rome courthouse Dedicated to:
- Soliciting funds for restoration, preservation and improvements
- Raising public awareness of the Courthouse and its possibilities
- Working with the owner of the Courthouse, Rome Community Center, Inc., to plan for the preservation and future uses of the building
- Researching grants, public and private funding sources
ALL FUNDS RAISED BY THE FRIENDS OF THE 1818 ROME COURTHOUSE ARE DIRECTED TO THE RESTORATION OF THE BUILDING
